Part Twelve

Cat silently walked down the halls of the big temple. Turning a corner she found herself in a hallway full of paintings. Cat studied them with her ears open for any sound. All the paintings were of beautiful women, but they all had one thing in common; they all had green eyes. She then heard chatting from behind the a door at the end off the hall.

Cat walked up to the door and listened carefully to what was being said with her keen ears.

"You are the legend." Yosaku said. "You, and only you. Not like any of the other green eyed ones hold the power that you do."

"How are you so sure it is me that holds the power?" Mitsuo argued.

"There aren't that many women running around with green eyes." Yosaku calmly said.

Mitsuo stayed silent.

While Yosaku continued to talk to Mitsuo, Cat silently turned the knob of the door and slowly opened the door. She looked around the room, there were statues and paintings of sceneries along the walls. She then walked to the next room and looked around. No sign of Mitsuo and Yosaku. She walked to the left in the next room, she peeked out the corner and saw the back of Yosaku and Mitsuo sitting in a chair in front of him. Cat cocked her brow at how keen her ears were.

Yosaku held up the crystal ball in his hand. "You have touched this and survived," He reminded. "You must be the one..."

Mitsuo grabbed the ball with an angered face. "To hell with this crap!" She yelled as she threw the ball.

"NO-" Yosaku cut himself off when he turned to see Cat holding the ball in her hands. It didn't make any sense to him at first, but he couldn't see her eyes for she was looking down at the ball in her hands.

Cat then looked up and Yosaku gasped with shock as he starred at her evergreen eyes. "Surprise." Cat said throwing the ball at Yosaku, who was still shocked and kept starring at Cat's eyes, then the ball hit him in the head and he fell back. "What was his problem?" Cat asked Mitsuo.

"I can't believe I never noticed this before..." Mitsuo said. "You've got green eyes as well."

Cat was going to answer when they heard footsteps coming toward them. And they stood in battle stances.

Kannuki then jumped into the room, sword in hand and ready for a battle. "Have no fear! Kannuki the great warrior is here!"

"Kannuki--!"

Kannuki held his sword high above his head. "I will right wrong and triumph over evil."

"Kannuki--?"

"I am Kannuki. I fight for love and justice, and that means you!" Kannuki finished. He turned his head and looked at Cat and Mitsuo who just gave him funny looks. Kannuki gave them a sheepish grin. "My little cousin loves that show."

Then all stood around Yosaku, Kannuki kicked him with his foot, but Yosaku didn't move. "I think I knocked him out cold." Cat said.

Yosaku jumped up, grabbing Kannuki's hand that held his sword. Yosaku then made Kannuki stab himself. Kannuki started screaming, Yosaku turned to Cat and Mitsuo, then noticed that Kannuki was still screaming.

Yosaku turned to face Kannuki, who stood behind him. The sword was deep inside Kannuki's body that the end of it was clearly seen through his back.

"I'm- I'm supposed to be DEAD!!" Kannuki yelled. "I have a sword through my belly and I'm not dead, I'm alive!" Kannuki continued to yell. "It's true! It's really true! I CAN'T DIE!!" Kannuki continued to yell, now sounding like a maniac.

Mitsuo and Cat looked at each other and Yosaku looked at Kannuki with total amazement. Cat sprang into action, she pulled her dagger out her belt that hung around her waist and sliced at Yosaku's back. He let out a grunt of pain, then Mitsuo created a magic rope in her hands and threw it at Yosaku's neck. It wrapped itself around Yosaku's neck and tightened.

Yosaku held his mouth open, trying to suck in air, but it was useless, he slowly died, falling to his knees, falling down. When he was good and dead the rope disappeared.

Cat and Mitsuo looked back at Kannuki who stood silent starring at his own sword through his body. He then pulled it out and felt himself heal from the inside out. "Whoa! That was cool!" He smiled.

He raised his sword to stab himself again, but Cat grabbed his hand. "Don't get too carried away." She said in a firm voice. "You may be a Lynn that only has nine lives."

Kannuki made an understanding face and put his sword away. They all then joined the others outside, who were mostly beaten up, or wasn't that hurt just had blood and dirt all over them.

Raziel turned and looked at Niniane who had most of her dress all torn up. "Pretty sexy, Nin." He joked.

Niniane then stood in a model pose, with one hand on her hip, the other behind her head and one leg bent up. "You really think so?"

"Well, now that you mention it. You almost look like someone who just came back from rolling in pigs mud." Raziel joked again and laughed.

Niniane made and angered face and jumped high into the air "Bloody Tornado!" She yelled.

Raziel’s face became very pale when he heard her yell the words. "Now I'm in for it..."

Niniane fell on top of Raziel. Smiling with glee, she touched his nose with her index finger. "Gotcha!" She laughed.

"Don't ever scare me like that again." Raziel sighed with relief.

"Well, you deserved it." Niniane laughed.

They continued to argue in the back when Tickashi turned to Mitsuo. "Are you alright?" He asked putting a hand on her shoulder. "He didn't hurt you did he?!" He quickly asked again before Mitsuo could answer.

Mitsuo placed her hands softly upon his lips before he could ask another silly question. "I'm fine, Tickashi." She replied. "He couldn't hurt me. He wouldn't."

"Why?" Cat asked from behind Mitsuo.

"Yeah, that's been getting to me as well." Raziel said. "He was ready to kill us in an instant, but when you were fighting him... he just became kinda soft."

"Well," Mitsuo sighed. "He had told me that there was only one being (of the female side of course) with pure green eyes, who holds great mystical powers within herself." Mitsuo paused for only a moment, then continued. "He knew it was me of course. He had this crystal ball, that if you touched it and your eyes were not pure green... then it would burn you."

"Hamm..." Mingi hummed.

"But what was weird was that Cat was able to hold the ball without being burned." Mitsuo finished.

Cat stood in silence for sometime starring down at the ground. "I know that legend from some place before..."

"You don't remember?" Yuni asked a bit shocked.

Cat shook her head. "No..."

Yuni let out a sigh. "You learned it from your tutor, but it bored you so much that you hardly paid attention."

"Oh, yes! Now it's all coming back." Cat said.

Yuni turned to the rest of the group. "Yosaku must not know the whole legend. For it was written that a ONCE earthly being would behold great power, beyond any others, but not above the gods. This legend just happens to be Cat. For we did once roam this earth. Also she is the only Lynn with pure green eyes. Others may have green eyes, but it would be a mixture of other colors... That's why Cat is so well treated and respected by all."

"Only thing is, the power must wake on it's own." Cat added. "For with this great power I would be able to turn into a Lynn any time I would want to right now."

"Everything's over now," Mingi said putting her hood over her head. "Let's get going to the next village before dark."

Everyone nodded in agreement and headed East to Soho village. Reaching this village at dark they entered in it's open gates. It was a very beautiful place, lamps were lit throughout the village with small balls of light flying around... almost like lighting bugs, only when they came into closer view they were dragonflies. In the center of the village was a small pond with lily pads, the dragonflies would often bounce off the surface of the water.

"Wow..." Jun said in awe. "Isn't it beautiful." She held out her hand and a dragonfly landed on her palm then flew off.

"Yeah," Niniane agreed standing next to Raziel. A dragonfly flew around Niniane's head then landed on Raziel's forehead.

"Get this thing off me before I squish it." Raziel said. Niniane lightly taped it and it flew away.

Mingi smiled. "Come on everyone," She said, taking almost everyone's attentions off of the dragonflies. "Let's go find a place to stay. Some of us need our rest."

They walked across the village to a big building that said 'INN' on a sign. It was pretty expensive, but it was worth it...

Cyrus, Raziel, Tickashi and Kannuki all entered one big room with four beds. Cyrus sat on one of the beds the stretched out and got comfy. "I haven't slept in a bed this comfy before in years."

Kannuki jumped onto one of the beds then flew up high from the springs, then landed on the floor just next to the bed. "OW!" He had getting up off the floor.

"Didn't your mother ever tell you not to jump on the bed?" Raziel joked.

"I don't know." Kannuki scratched his head. "I can never remember." He shrugged.

Tickashi walked over to the window doors and opened it and stepped out onto the balcony, closing the doors behind him. He leaned on the balcony rail, letting the night's breeze blow upon his face. He heard the clicking of doors opening. Mitsuo stepped out from the doors that was the girl's room. She turned and saw Tickashi and gasped in shock before realizing who it was.

"You startled me, Tickashi." Mitsuo smiled walking up next to him. "I didn't think anyone else would be out here."

They stood in silence for sometime, Mitsuo looking out viewing the scenery of the village. Tickashi was looking at Mitsuo, when she turned to look at Tickashi and was about to say something she quickly noticed he was looking at her and she turned her view back toward the scenery.

"Do I frighten you, Mitsuo?" Tickashi asked not moving his eyes from her.

"Why do you ask?" Mitsuo asked looking back at Tickashi.

"Because... Every time I speak to you, you always have this strange gleam in your eyes." Tickashi said.

"I do?" Mitsuo asked a bit shocked. Tickashi nodded. "I'm not frightened of you, it's just there is this weird kind of vibration coming from you."

"What kind of vibration?" Tickashi asked.

"...A vibration of love for someone..." Mitsuo replied.

Tickashi let out a small laugh. "An are you hoping that my love vibrations are for you?"

Mitsuo's eyes became wide. "I sure hope not!"

Tickashi smiled. "Are you just saying that to make me think that you don't like me?" He asked taking a step closer to Mitsuo, and Mitsuo taking a step away from him.

"I wouldn't like a man like you." Mitsuo sneered at Tickashi.

"Why's that?" Tickashi asked.

"There are other vibrations coming from you... Evil one's from the past, I think." Mitsuo replied.

"Ah, yes." Tickashi nodded. "I was once a mercenary. Killed anything or anyone... good or bad, just as long as I got paid."

Mitsuo gave him a disgusted look, then looked back at the scenery of the village. "I see..." Mitsuo said a bit rudely. "You would kill the innocent just for money."

Tickashi smiled and continued looking at Mitsuo. "You've got the weird gleam in your eyes again."

"That's because I hate heartless killers such as you!" Her voice becoming louder and poked her finger on Tickashi's chest moving him back a step from each word she said. Mitsuo looked at him with that weird gleam in her eyes then turned back to the scenery. "Don't you feel guilty after what you've done?"

"Actually... I do." Tickashi replied. "Sometimes I wish I could turn back time and correct everything. I don't want the goddess Angel to look at me the way you just did."

"So who is it that you like?" Who are those vibrations for?" Mitsuo asked softer and sweeter than before.

"Why?" Tickashi asked with a smile.

"Because I'm curious." Mitsuo quickly replied looking at Tickashi.

"I'll tell you mine, if you tell me yours." Tickashi said.

"I have no interests in anyone." Mitsuo replied.

"Then tell me what kind of man you're looking for?" Tickashi asked again.

Mitsuo let out a sigh and starred up at the starlit sky. "I want a man who is sweet, gentle, understanding and patient. Can be funny at time, no one too serious. Always there for me, like a knight in shining armor..." Mitsuo paused for awhile. "What else is there for me to say..? A man I would like must have those features and much more."

"I could be like that man you are waiting for." Tickashi said.

Mitsuo looked at him in shock from what he said. "So now you're saying that you like me?" Mitsuo joked.

"Nah, I just wanted to see you're reaction. "Tickashi smiled.

Mitsuo looked back out into the scenery. "Right... I believe you." Mitsuo joked.

Tickashi let out a short low laugh. "Don't worry, my love 'vibrations' isn't for you. It's for someone else."

Mitsuo looked back at him. "It's your turn to tell me whom you like."

"I guess I can tell you. It wouldn't matter anyhow, I could never have a chance of getting with the goddess Angel."

"The goddess of life and spirituality Angel?" Mitsuo asked in surprise.

"Yeah, I can't help it. Even just the mention of her name makes me flutter."

"So how did this come to be?" Mitsuo asked.

"I was in that war that was so many years ago, when the goddess Angel and Kitana showed their true forms for the first time. I would fall to attraction to Kitana, because she was so beautiful, but instead I had fallen for Angel... even though she was less prettier, but she came to me. She told me "The past is the past. For the evil you have done I give you the future to do good deeds and erase what you have done in the past." She then kissed me on the cheek and from then on I've been immortal. Unkillable. She forgave me of my past and my evil. No one in this world has ever been so kind and forgiving. At first I only had love for her as like a second mother, now... I can't help but want her to be with me."

"I see..." Mitsuo said with sympathy. "Sorry about the way I acted."

"No, I should be sorry... sorry for being so rude to you." Tickashi apologized.

"Forgiven." Mitsuo nodded. "I guess I should go to sleep now, it's getting pretty late."

Tickashi nodded in agreement and they walked off and entered the doors that lead to their rooms.
