Part Eighteen
Cat found herself in a dark area. It was very cramped and things were also inside the room that
every step or move she made caused her to fall. She found light coming from a crack in the wall
and she began to push on the wall, but it wouldn't budge. She began to bang on the wall and
called for someone to open it.
Finally someone opened a door Cat was banging on and she fell through the door opening.
Jumping up fast Cat held out her dagger and was ready to fight. "Hold up." The man said that
opened the door. The man was fairly good-looking through Cat's eye, but she kept her distance
from him. "Now wait a second, lady." The man said holding up his hands. "Who are you and
how did you get into my house and stuck in my closet?"
Cat's expression changed to confusion. "You don't know where you are, do you?" The man
asked. Cat didn't reply only held up her weapon to keep him away from her. "What's your
name?" The man asked softly. "A little shy aren't we?" Taking a step closer. "My name is Ikari.
What's yours?" He asked taking another step closer.
"Back up or die..." Cat warned.
"Okay, okay." Ikari said backing up. "Would you like to leave? The front door's right there, I'm
not trying to stop you."
Cat lowered her weapon then made her way to the door. "Where am I?" She asked Ikari.
"In my house, at the top of a hill." Ikari replied.
Cat opened the front door and looked out at the scenery. "What's your name?" Ikari asked once
again.
"I'm... I'm Cat..." She replied.
"Cat, huh?" Is that with a 'C' or a 'K'?" Ikari asked.
"...C." Cat replied.
"Nice to meet you, Cat." Ikari said holding out his hand, causing Cat to jump back. "Don't worry,
it's only a hand shake."
"Hand shake?" Cat asked confused, looking at his hand.
"Give me your hand, I'll show you." Ikari said.
Cat slowly allows her hand to reach Ikari's. "It's not going to hurt you." Finally getting a hold of
Cat's hand he began to shake it. "See it's harmless."
Cat smiled and took a step back, away from Ikari. "Where are you from?" Ikari asked.
"I'm from an island." Cat replied.
"What's the name of the island?" Ikari asked.
"..." Cat didn't speak.
"What's wrong? Don't you know?" Ikari asked.
"I don't know." Cat shook her head. "I can't remember anything. How I got here. Not even where
I'm from." Cat sank down against the wall and began to sob.
Ikari ran to her side and put his hand under her chin. "Look at me." Ikari said, he then looked into
her beautiful evergreen eyes. "You have strange eyes."
"What's so wrong about them?" Cat asked looking at Ikari with clearer eyes.
"Nothing's wrong with them." He smiled. "They look beautiful on you. I especially love the
color."
"Thank you." Cat smiled.
"Now, wee? I made you smile." He smirked. "I'm not a bad person."
"I'm sorry about before." Cat apologized.
"You have a cut." Ikari said, indicating that it was on her forehead. "Here let me treat it." He
pulled Cat up to her feet and brought her over to a table and sat her in a chair. He soaked a piece
of clothe, and dabbed it at Cat's cut. When the cut was clean Ikari examined it one more time.
"There, much better."
"Thank you, Ikari. You're very kind." Cat smiled.
"No problem." Ikari smiled as well.
Mingi found herself standing just outside a temple with a house just next to it. "Daddy, daddy!"
A little girl yelled running out of the house. "Look!" The little girl said pointing at Mingi.
A man walked out of the house and saw Mingi. "Hello!" He said waving to Mingi.
Mingi walked up to the man and the little girl and she felt uneasy about where she was at.
"Wh-where am I?" Mingi asked.
"Your at the temple of the Magic Holders." The man replied looking at Mingi confused. "You
come here and don't know where you're at."
"Actually, I don't even know how I got here." Mingi replied.
"Poor lady..." The little girl replied.
"My name is Gitago and this is my daughter Ledia." Gitago introduced himself and the girl.
"My name is Mingi... I think... Yeah." Mingi replied.
"Please, why don't you come inside." Gitago gestured to Mingi to enter his home.
They all sat around a table and Gitago got something for Mingi to drink. Ledia walked up beside
Mingi. "Wanna see me do a trick?"
"Sure." Mingi smiled.
Ledia closed her hands together then opened them into a cup and blew at her hands. Rainbow
sparkles flew from her hand and formed a beautiful butterfly. The butterfly soon after
disappeared with the rainbow colors falling to the ground.
"That is just beginners magic." Gitago said. "She still has so much to learn, because she is my
only heir. I did have a son, but he died in the war."
"I'm sorry." Mingi said with sympathy.
"Oh, it's no matter." Gitago said. "I was told that no one was to blame for his own actions.
Besides he was the one who decided to go to the war and died in honor." Gitago paused for a few
breathes. "The only thing I can remember him by is hearing about the sword I had given to him.
Which I had put a curse on for only the strongest warrior to ever hold."
"I don't think I've ever heard of the sword you talk about." Mingi said.
"No?" Gitago asked confused. "You never heard of it being hid on an island that only innocence
may pass and that only the greatest may touch it, without dying?"
"No." Mingi shook her head. "I lived in captivity since I was a child at the temple of the white
mage learning to fight."
"The white mage temple, huh?" Gitago said.
"Yes, I guess I finally passed the test to see who was the greatest fighter at the temple." Mingi
said.
"But isn't it the rule as a white mage that only men could learn their skills?" Gitago asked.
"Yes, that's right." Mingi said. "Only I had proven to them when I was a child that I really
wanted to become strong, so they accepted me as one of them. They all treated me no different
than any other at the temple. I wasn't really treated as a girl who was supposed to cook and clean.
As I grew older some of the priest at the temple said that I could become a problem because most
of the boys at the temple grew to attract me. So they held a special tournament. All the guys at
the temple had to fight me and if more than three defeated me, I would have to leave. I defeated
all but one guy and they kept me there. I put one guy who had tried and tried to get me to engage
with him in the health temple. The health temple is more like a hospital. After that not one man
at the temple tried to engage with me."
"That's pretty amazing." Gitago said. "So what happened to the one man you didn't defeat in that
tournament?"
"Well, he didn't have any interests in me and didn't want to settle down with any woman from the
outside. So it was lucky for me." Mingi explained.
"Well, Mingi. You seem like a nice and powerful warrior. You are welcome to stay in my home
for as long as you like until you remember anything more." Gitago said.
"Well, I remember as far as leaving my temple, but after that... it's just blank." Mingi said.
"Well, why don't you get some rest." Gitago said. "Ledia, would you kindly show Mingi to the
guest room?"
"Yes, daddy." Ledia said. She walked up to Mingi, "Follow me." Mingi follows Ledia into the
guest room. She removes her cloak and armor than lays in the bed and falls asleep.
Kannuki wakes up tucked in a bed with a warm clothe on his forehead. He removes the clothe
from his forehead and sits up. "Where am I?" He asked himself. He gets himself out of the bed
and makes his way down the hall from the bedroom, until he reached a big room. A woman sat in
a couch then jumps up and ran to Kannuki, giving him a hug.
"Oh, darling. You're alright! I thought we've lost you!" She sobbed on Kannuki's shoulder.
A man walked into the room and also gave Kannuki a hug. "What's going on? Who are you
people?" Kannuki asked.
"You don't remember us?" The woman asked.
"Son... We're your parents." The man said putting a hand on Kannuki's shoulder.
"Why'd you abandon me?" Kannuki asked coldly.
"We didn't abandon you." The woman said. "You were dead, but here you are before us; alive
and well."
"I don't have a family!" Kannuki yelled pulling away from the man and woman.
"Don't say that son." The man said.
"Don't call me SON!!" Kannuki yelled. "I'm not yours!"
"Kannuki..." The woman said with sadness.
He stood in silence, but had a shocked face. He thought at first that this was for real, then pushed
that away and called it more of a dream.
"Son, we didn't abandon you, you died." The man said. "A warrior came to our village and you
asked him to reach you to fight, and in front of your mother and I he killed you. Stabbing you
through the heart."
"We gave you a proper burial and everything. But we couldn't stand living in the house mourning
over your death." The woman said.
After that explanation from the man and woman it all started to come back to him. He knew this
stuff had happened, but why didn't he remember? "I remember. I also remember waking in a hole
in the ground and a dark cloaked person stood just outside the hole. He pulled me out of the hole
and told me to go home. I reached the house and it was deserted..." Kannuki said.
"Oh, my son. My son! We're so sorry." The woman cried running over to Kannuki and giving
him a hug.
"The goddess has blessed us, and brought you back home." The man said.
"Come Kannuki, let's get you something warm for you to drink." The woman said guiding
Kannuki into the kitchen. She poured him a drink and went outside to enjoy the spring air.
Kannuki chatted with his parents for some time. His mother let out a scream as a spear flew
through the air towards Kannuki. He tried to move out of its way, but he wouldn't budge. He
stayed in his position looking up at the spear. The spear drove through Kannuki's chest and he
fell to the ground. His mother screamed at the loss of her son a second time. "No!" her mother
screamed. "Not when we just got you back!!"
A woman in dark clothes and cape around her, she wore the hood over her head and kept it low
to keep her face hidden. She walked up to Kannuki's parents, they looked at her with shock and
fear. The woman pulled her spear out of Kannuki, took a couple of steps back and waited.
"You...killed him!!" Kannuki's mother screamed charging at the mysterious woman.
The woman side-stepped when Kannuki's mother came really close, using her staff part of her
spear she placed it under the chin of the mother and pulled her close, held her to face Kannuki.
When the mother tried to look away the woman forced it back to Kannuki.
"Look..." The woman whispered into the mother's ear.
Even though the mother didn't want to look, she did. Kannuki started to move, her eyes sparkled
with joy when Kannuki sat up. "Kannuki!!" His mother yelled with tears of joy, getting out of the
woman's grasp and giving him a hug.
"What happened?" Kannuki asked.
"You just experienced death." The mysterious woman said.
"What?" Kannuki asked her confused. He looked down and saw a new hole through his shirt.
"I'm not dead..."
"Why do you not act shocked about what just happened?" The woman asked.
"I don't know." Kannuki shook his head. "But I feel as if this has already happened before."
"Hmm." Was all the woman said. She removed her hood and looked at him, she had strands of
fallen hair over her face and parts of it was tied loosely in the back. She looked at Kannuki as
though she has known him before.
"Who are you?" Kannuki asked.
"My name is Aura." She replied. "I know you don't remember me, but I'm the dark figure that
brought you back to life."
"You?" Kannuki asked in awe.
Aura put her hand up to shush whatever else he had to say. "I want to apologize first. The only
way I was to save your life was to put a curse on you. Now I wish I never did so, for you can't
die, by being killed or by old age. You can go to the age of 20 after that you grow no older, you
shall then live for eternity, I'm sorry." She bowed.
"For all eternity..." Kannuki said still in awe. "H-how do you reverse it?"
"There is no way to reverse it." Aura replied. "The only way to reverse the spell is by the goddess
Angel herself."
"I see..." Kannuki said sadly, he turned from the others walked into the house and sat in a chair in
silence.
Niniane woke up in the middle of a forest, a beautiful area, with a waterfall nearby and lovely
flowers growing everywhere. "Where...am I?" Niniane asked herself. "How did I get here?"
An old man in spirit form appeared suddenly before Niniane. "Who are you?!" she yelled
jumping back and summoning her weapon into her hands.
"You don't remember me?" The old man asked. "It's me, your grandfather, Isukou."
"Grandpa?" Niniane asked looking at her grandfather. She looked at him for another moment or
so, then looked surprised with joy. Her weapon disappeared as she ran to give him a hug. She
wrapped her arms around him then found herself tilting forward. "Whooaaa!!" She yelled falling
toward the ground spinning her arms, she couldn't catch her balance and ended up falling. "Ow!"
Isukou laughed. "My dear, I'm not alive, I'm in spirit form."
"Why are you here?" Niniane asked.
"To tell you why you have this weapon." Isukou replied holding out his hand and the weapon
appeared floating above it horizontally. "I know I would die before I could tell you why. I should
have given it to you way before my time to leave came. I waited too long. You were such a
young, beautiful and funny girl. I was somewhat worried that you might not take the
responsibility that is required."
Niniane got herself comfortable in a sitting position. She continued to listen to what her
grandfather had to say.
"You are a white-mage priestess. Even though the one rule for a white-mage, is that no women
were allowed to join. You were the only child to inherit my powers, none of my sons or
daughters had, just you. When you feel ready, you must go to the white-mage temple and prove
to them that you have the inherited the power of a white-mage warrior priest, they will teach you
how to use your powers and strengthen them."
"Grandpa," Niniane started. "how do you know it's me? Possibly one of my cousins could have
inherited the power as well."
"One of them did, but the power wasn't as powerful as yours." Isukou replied.
"How did you know I had the power?" Niniane asked.
"I knew you had it when you were just a small child, a bully at your school kept messing with
you, but you didn't confront this to anyone. You wanted to handle it yourself, you weren't
winning and that made you angry. That's when my weapon, at the time, appeared in your hand,
only small enough for you to handle. You ended up cutting off one of her hands. That angered
some of the villagers, but they praised you because you were to become a priestess when you
grew old enough."
"Wow! I guess that explains why Heroku was missing a hand, and the people treating me so
nicely." Niniane said.
"Now take this weapon." Isukou held out his hand with the weapon in it. "It's yours now."
Isukou began to fade away. "No! Grandpa, don't leave me!"> Niniane yelled.
"I'm dead, my dear." Isukou said. "I have to leave."
"No..." Niniane whispered and was about to cry, the weapon fell to the ground, she looked at it
and it made her sorrows disappear. She grabbed it and looked at the weapon for a while.
A rustling sound came from the bushes behind her, she stood silent waiting for whatever it was
to reveal itself. Raziel fell out from behind it. "Owowow!" He yelped, then looked up at Niniane.
"Oh, hi Nin."
"Huh?" Niniane said confused.
"You don't remember me?" Raziel asked standing up. "It's me, Raziel." He took a step towards
Niniane.
"Stay back stranger!" Niniane warned holding her weapon up.
Niniane swung her weapon at Raziel, he ducked it. "Whoa! That was close." Niniane swung her
weapon again, Raziel quickly pulled out his sword and blocked the attack. "Stop this Nin!"
Niniane spun around and swung her staff low, Raziel jumped it and landed on the weapon
keeping it on the ground. "Can't we talk about this?" Niniane pulled up her weapon and Raziel
did a back flip in the air to land safely to the ground. "Guess that's a no." Niniane continued to
attack Raziel, him blocking each of her attacks waiting for a moment when he can pin her down
and talk to her. Finally when Niniane kicked at him, he caught her leg and threw her to the
ground and kissed her. It wasn't that long and Niniane looked at Raziel in shock.
"Do you remember me now? No wait. We've never kissed before." Raziel commented.
Niniane stood up, Raziel held up his arms to block whatever attack she was going to throw.
"You...you kissed me." Niniane said still shocked. "Oh Raziel!" Niniane threw her arms around
Raziel. "You do love me!"
Raziel only smiled and put his arms around her as well. "Yeah, I guess you got to me."
Niniane looked around. "Where are the others...?"
