Part Fourteen
The group followed Sephy to a green area with small hills here and there, and very few trees had
grown. Sephy then pointed to a specific tree, it's bark was a very light color and it's branches
spread out. It was a kinda tree that would be perfect to build a tree house. Between the branches
of this tree they saw a person, but couldn't quite make out who it was for the leaves were in the
way. Only they knew who it was and ran up to the tree.
The tree was a lot taller up close then it did father away. "Alright, we're here, but how do we get
her down?" Niniane asked.
"I can get her," Cyrus said, then jumped up high into the branches.
Suddenly a roar came echoing through the valley. "What was that!?!" Jun asked shocked.
"I don't know, but I'm not staying to find out." Sephy said, then disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"Sephy, get back here!" Kannuki yelled.
The ground beneath them started to crack open, separating the group in two groups. When the
ground started to split towards the tree, Cyrus quickly grabbed Angel in one arm and jumped far
from the tree. Looking back the tree had fallen halfway into the crack then got stuck.
"What the hell is doing this!?!" Raziel yelled.
A monster then slowly stuck it's huge head from the crack. A dragon head with rough hair
hanging from it's chin. Pulling out of hand at a time, it tore the ground with it's sharp claws,
causing the group to back up, for the hand was nearly twenty times their own size.
"That thing's huge!!!" Tickashi yelled. "Do you think we'd be able to kill it?" He asked Mingi
from behind him.
"I don't know, but there can always be a chance that we could." Mingi said.
The dragon like monster pulled the rest of itself out of the crack, then the ground quickly closed
back. The top part of it looked like a dragon without the wings, but the rest of it looked like a
serpent. Steam from in it's open mouth warned them that it would barbeque them.
The group had no where to hide from the flames as the monster took a deep breath then shot out
it's flames. The group thought they would be in flames by now, but found that a shield was
around them.
"I had a feeling you might need my help." Phoenix said from behind the monster.
While the monster tried to turn, a circle of flame formed around it. It was clear and see through
red with flames dancing around. The monster tried to free itself but was badly burnt instead. The
ball of flame then started to shrink, burning the monster more and more.
"Burn! Monster! Burn!" Sephy yelled appearing on the other side of the monster.
The ball of flame continued to shrink until it reduced to a very small size and disappeared. The
monster then fell to the ground burnt all over and steam rising from it's body. "Yes! I am number
one!" Sephy cheered.
"It's not over yet!" Cyrus yelled to everyone as the monster began to rise, more angered this time.
"It's still alive!" Sephy yelled in shocked.
Sephy began to form another fire ball, but Phoenix stopped him. "Wait! You can't use fire or
earth. Call up something of ice."
"Alright." Sephy said. He then created an icicle in his hand in the shape of a sword then he flew
close to the monster and stabbed it. Piece by piece the dragon became frozen in ice.
When all of it was frozen, they thought it was over, but then the ice began to crack then the
monster broke free sending shards of ice flying everywhere. One big icicle started to head
towards Mingi. She quickly drew her sword and broke the icicle before it hit her.
Mingi angered she called upon the power that is held within her. Her ruby sword began to glow
and she then shoot her sword into the ground close to then monster. The sword still glowing
became watery. At first small then became bigger and bigger. Swishing itself around the
monster, closing in on the monster, the monster tried to burn the water away, but it only
shortened it's flame and created a little steam. When the monster opened it's mouth in a roar
some of the water entered it's mouth, then disappeared.
The dragon put one hand to it's throat then tried to breath fire, but only smoke came out. Angered
it swished it's tail towards the group. Phoenix quickly created a shield around the group and the
monster turned to Phoenix and brought it's claw up and quickly down.
With only a flick of Phoenix's wrist he shot something small that grew bigger and quicker than
the dragon's hand. The large sharp object then stabbed itself into the dragon's palm. Phoenix shot
another one, a bit smaller than the first, and stabbed at the monsters right eye.
Cyrus then drew his sword charges and jumps close to the monster and sliced at it's neck. Since
it's neck was too to cut he only got the main parts. Blood spurted from it's neck and it put both of
it's hands over the cut, blood continued to come out through the cracks of it's claws.
The monster started to fall. "Angel!" Niniane yelled pointing to Angel where the monster would
fall and crush her.
Tickashi then ran like the wind and grabbed Angel just before the monster fell. "That was close."
He sighed. He then turned and looked at Angel and noticed that on her forehead was the jewel.
"Is she alright?" Phoenix asked walking up.
"She's got that strange jewel on her." Tickashi said.
A wicked laugh then echoed through the valley. A lady in a black cloak appeared floating above
the group. "You all are strong." She laughed.
"Kallima..." Phoenix said. "Are you the one who did all this?"
"No." Kallima said, landing softly on the ground. "My monsters would be much stronger... and
uglier."
"Jaton must of done this." Cyrus said.
"Ah, yes. My nephew." Kallima said with a laugh.
"Take this jewel off of Angel!" Tickashi ordered Phoenix.
"Alright, alright." Phoenix said. He put his hand just about on inch away from touching forehead.
A glow shined between his hand and Angel's forehead. "It's not like this things gonna kill her,
just cause her to be powerless."
"Angel, wake up." Niniane said, lightly slapping Angel.
Kannuki started to sniffle. Sephy leaned to see what was wrong with him. "Why are you crying?"
"It's just moments like these that make me cry." Kannuki said then quickly stopped. "Gotcha!"
He smiled.
"Be serious, Kannuki!" Mingi said smacking him in the back of the head.
"Ow!" Kannuki rubbed the back of his head where Mingi smacked him. "Man, never piss a white
mage off."
After a couple of tried to waken Angel, she finally blinked her eyes open. "KITANA!!" She
screamed waking sitting up.
"Kitana?!" Kallima asked confused. "What's happened to her?"
Angel stood up and pushed her way through the group that crowded around her and stood face to
face with Kallima. "That Jaton nephew you're so proud of."
"Well, he's really becoming just like his favorite Aunt." Kallima smiled. "Am I right, Angel?"
Angel turned and walked over to Phoenix and took the jewel from his hand, then turned back to
Kallima. "You know what this is don't you?" Angel asked.
"What are you getting at?" Kallima asked taking a step back.
Angel opened her hand and held that held the jewel. The jewel then swiftly flew and inch from
touching Kallima's forehead. "You get Kitana from you're nephew and I'll not put the jewel on
you."
Kallima smiled. "You sure know how to get your way."
"Having a cousin like you, I'd have to learn to get my way." Angel smirked.
"As you wish." Kallima snapped her finger and Kitana appeared beside her.
Kitana fell to her knees. "Where--" Kitana started then stopped seeing Angel and Kallima.
"Get this thing out of my face." Kallima ordered Angel.
"Not yet..." Angel said. "Tell us where EmLynn has moved the Island of Lynns?"
"I can't tell you." Kallima said.
"Tell us or you shall stay powerless!" Angel warned.
Kallima sighed then stayed silent for awhile. "it's wester from here. Two or three days travel
worth." Kallima finally said.
Angel then ordered the jewel back into the hand. "Good." She then gave the jewel to Phoenix.
"Take the other one off of Kitana."
Phoenix did as Angel said. "You'll be fine." Phoenix assured Kitana.
"Thanks, Phoenix." Kitana said standing up. "You'll have to make me better weapons."
"Yeah, I know." Phoenix nodded.
Kitana patted Phoenix's shoulder. "Good." She sighed. When Angel was about to walk off Kitana
ran up to her. "What are you going to do?"
"I need to help these people save the island of Lynns." Angel replied.
"You anger me, Angel!" Kallima said. "You're going there to destroy my daughter!"
"Not if she leaves quietly." Angel said calmly.
Kallima let out an angered cry then vanished.
