A VERY FAIRY TALE!
In a small town in England a family is just moving in.
"Why mommy?" A little girl begged stomping behind her mom.
"Because he is a sweet man. Besides, he'll take care of you and Andy." her mom replied walking down the hall into the livingroom. Fixing up plants and removing things out of cardboard boxes and setting them upon the floor.
"Mom, I really didn't want to move away from America. I don't want to have to make new friends all over again," she continued to whine.
"You make new friends everyday..." her mom gentley replied continuing with her work.
The little girl still begged. After a couple of tries she gave up and ran upstairs to where her brother Andy was.
"Andy!" she stomped her foot on the floor.
Andy was busy moving the matresses of his bed into his room. Wearing his headphones and listening to some music, he didn't hear his sister's scream.
She finally walked over and yanked the headphone's cord out of the headset. He then got the matress to land on the bed.
"We have to talk." She said in a very strong way.
"Okay," he sat down on the matress next to his sister. "What is it you want to talk about?"
"What do you think of mom making us move here?"
"I guess I liked it." Andy replied shrugging his shoulders.
"How can you like it!" She starred at Andy in shock. "I didn't want to move, I liked where we lived. We were fine just where we were at! Why did he have to come along and..."
Andy interupted her, "Mom fell in love...Laura, you're too young to understand. Dad left us and she needed someone to fill in that hole in her heart...Well...Charles just happened to be that person..."
Andy looked out the window, "Laura, it's getting dark...maybe you should get to bed."
"Can I sleep in here?" Laura asked.
"Sure..." Andy gave her a sweet smile.
Laura jumped to a spot where she felt comfortable at, "Tell me a story Andy."
"What do you want the story to be about?"
"Some kind of fairytale."
Andy grabbed a blanket and laid it over Laura. "Okay...then it shall be about a fairy..."
"Named Laura," Laura interupted.
"...named Laura..."
"No! Tigerlily." Luara interupted again.
"Alright, named Tigerlily..."
"She was the new heir in the Fairy Kingdom."Andy moved to a more comfortable spot for him to tell his story. It may take sometime to get Laura to sleep.
"Born from a rose she was," Andy continued. "A symbole that meant she was a princess. The queen of the fairies was happy that she was born. The queen took one look at the new princess and named her Tigerlily. The princess was a special princess, she was a choosen one to go down into the world of reality to where she would make a little girl believe. To help her know whether fairies where real or not. So one day when the princess was old enough she twinkled down from The Cloud of Fantasy and flew to the little girls ear. She whispered in her ear 'Do you believe?' The little girl then awoke and saw the fairy fluttering before her eyes and whispered back, 'I believe. I believe.' The fairy then..." Andy stopped.
Laura was fast asleep. He tucked the blanket up closer to her chin then walked to the door and turned the light out. Just then, before he could even turn around. He saw a shine, like a huge firefly (or lightingbug). It was very bright. The light then landed on sile of the open window. The bright shine then faided to reveal a tiny little human figure with a pair of double wings.
Andy starred in shock at the figure before him. The small thing then noticed him. The glow brightened around her and flew closer to Andy.
"What are you?" The small figure asked in a tiny voice, but loud enough to be heard.
"I-I-I'm..."Andy studdered. "What are you?"
The glow then giggled it's high pitched giggle, "Oh, silly! I'm a fairy..." the fairy then flew to his ear and whispered "Do you believe?" Then flew close to his sister.
"I must be seeing things!" Andy walked over and shaked his sister trying to wake her. Laura just pushed him off and fell back to sleep.
"I still must be dreaming...this truely can't be real!" Andy starred wide eyed at the fairy lying beside his sister's face.
"How can you think this is unreal!" She blurted out.
She then glowed brightly and flew to his face and gave him a kiss on the nose. Andy then touched his nose.
"You felt it didn't you?" The fairy asked. "You felt my kiss upon your nose."
Andy was unable to say a word. He was still in shock.
"Thi-This is a bad first start," Andy said shaking his head.
"What do you mean?" The fairy starred confused at Andy.
"My name is...Andy." Andy then looked at the fairy waiting for her to reply.
"My name is Andy-" The fairy said intimadating Andy's moves.
"No! MY name is Andy. What's your name?" Andy said some what frustrated.
"My name...is...Tigerlily." The fairy finally replied getting it right.
"Tigerlily..." Andy starred confused wondering where he's heard that name before.
"That's right," Tigerlily interupted Andy's thoughts. "You made me up. You made your little sister want to believe..."
"I think I'm gonna pass out," Andy then laid down on his bed.
"It's true!" Tigerlily said.
"I don't believe I'm hearing this!" Andy jumped off his bed and walked back and forth. "You think that I am to believe there is such thing as fairies! I must of fallen asleep and I'm dreaming this!"
"...You want to believe don't you?" Tigerlily then said gentley.
Andy then stopped on his steps.
"Yes. I do want to believe..." Andy replied.
Tigerlily then floated before him, "I'm here...right before you...I'm real. Now believe; believe..."
"Where did you come from?" Andy asked.
"From where you said, 'The Cloud of Fantasy'. That's where we all come from...the land of fantasy and imagination...That's where everyone believes in all of us..." Tigerlily then floated to a small bookcase hanging on the wall. "Without people's belief in their imagination...we would never excist." Tigerlily sniffed when a small tear slide down from her eye.
"I believe...I truely believe now." Andy said with all his heart walking closer to the fairy.
Tigerlily then smiled and shined more brightly then ever and whispered in Laura's ear "Do you belive?"
Laura then awoke and gasped, "I believe! I believe!" she screamed.
Andy's and Laura's mom then burst in the room. "What's with the-" she took on look at Tigerlily and starred in disbelief.
"It's a fairy!" Laura screamed to her mom.
Their mom then fell to the floor. Laura gasped and went beside her mom, so did Andy.
"It's okay, Laura," Andy said after examining his mother. "She just fainted, she'll be fine."
"My job here is done..." Tigerlily said in her high pitched voice and flew out the open window into the starlite sky.
Charles, Andy and Laura's stepfather then appeared at the door.
"Oh, my goodness!" He yelled looking at Andy and Laura's fainted mom.
"Daddy!" Laura yelled then huged Charles.
"D-did you just call me 'dad'?" Charles was in shock and confused.
"Andy helped me believe...he brought her to me...now I believe." Laura was gonna say more but Charles interupted her.
"Oh, honey," Charles put his hand on top of her head. "Let's get your mom back in bed then you can tell me everything. You too Andy."
Andy smiled, "I know now's a great time for all of us to get to know each other but, there's still tomorrow for me. I need to get to sleep; I'm very tired."
Charles then carried Andy's mom to bed and Andy laid down in his bed. He could hear Laura talk to Charles about the story he told her and the dream she had. He didn't hear more afterwords.
Andy then starred out the window and before he shut his eyes he said his last words, "I believe..."
